Delicious Vegan Potato Spice Stew - Oil Free!

Try this delicious potato spice stew recipe for a hearty and flavorful meal. This easy-to-make stew is packed with potatoes, spices, and other ingredients that will tantalize your taste buds. Enjoy this comforting dish with family and friends!


You'll need:

  • 11 small round potatoes - each potato cut into 4 pieces

  • 1/4th large white onion - finely chopped

  • 1 cube frozen garlic - learn how to make it here

  • 1 can diced tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup hot water

  • 2 Tbsp white wine - optional

  • 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary - chopped

  • 2 stalks of green onions - chopped

  • 2 large carrot sticks - diced

  • 4 - 5 sprigs fresh basil - chopped

  • 1- 2 Vegan sausages - homemade or store-bought

  • 1 Tbsp of the following:

    • Mushroom seasoning - I get this from Asian stores

    • Tikka masala spice mix

    • Black pepper mix or black pepper

    • Cumin powder

    • Curry powder

    • 2.5 cups of hot water


Make it:



  • To a non-stick Wok on medium-high heat, add 1/2 cup hot water

  • Add onions and frozen garlic and allow to soften

  • Next, add mushroom seasoning (or salt) and stir properly.

  • Pour in white wine and simmer with the onions and garlic for 1-2 minutes

  • Add chopped potatoes and carrots

  • Next, add in spices and stir properly to combine all the ingredients

  • Allow the contents of the pot to simmer for a minute or two

  • Add 2.5 cups of hot water and stir

  • Cover with a lid and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes

  • Add in fresh herbs - green onions, basil, and rosemary and stir to combine

  • Taste at this point and adjust salt or seasoning as needed

  • Lower the heat a little and allow to simmer for about 5 more minutes until potatoes are soft through the center

    • You may simmer covered or uncovered. Uncovered = more hearty, less watery stew

  • Serve hot by itself or over your choice of starch or protein
